Tahiti trip on The Paul Gaugin                                                      NOVEMBER 14-24 2013

Tahitian sailors sailed to Hawaii 2500 miles in open canoes over 1000 years ago.  They were following migratory birds & didn’t realize the birds were heading another 3000 miles North.

To fly Air Tahiti, we had to drive to LAX and park the car for 10 days.

You have to use the stairs at Fa’a’a airport in Papeete.

The 8 hour flight crosses the equator. French Polynesia is south of Hawaii and nearly equidistant from the Equator..

Our 10-day itinerary will take us through the Society Islands and the Tuamotu atolls.

It takes hours to get through Tahiti customs.
